Welcome all of you to the Department of Electrical Engineering at NIET , Alwar . We offer four years B. Tech. program in Electrical Engineering which is affiliated to Bikaner Technical University , Bikaner (Rajasthan ) and three years Diploma program in Electrical Engineering which is affiliated to BTR , Jodhpur . We take pride in our faculty, a team of highly capable and dedicated professionals, most of whom have rich academic and research experience. Faculty members of our department are very passionate about teaching and conducting various academic and research activities like workshop, guest lectures, mentorship, reviewers in technical research articles, and editorial board members of national and international journal articles. We provide best academic environment to faculty and students, through workshops and trainings, seminars and guest lectures. Our students are highly motivated and shown their technical skills by making technical projects in various technical events .Department has established Electrical machines Lab , Electrical Drives Lab , Power Electronics Lab , Power System Protection Lab , Electrical Measurement Lab which give good practical knowledge about real life experience in Electrical Engineering .
The laboratory course provides instruction in general lab practices, measurement and instruments of power electronics circuits like converter, inverter, cycloconverter and choppers .It also provides experience with common knowledge of power semiconductor devices .
In this lab students performs the experiments related to static and dynamic characteristics of SCR , switching of SCR ,UJT using power supply and control circuits of chopper , rectifier and inverter using trainer kits.
Electrical measurement lab consist of instruments of electrical quantities. Measurement of electrical quantities may be done to measure electrical parameters of a system. Using physical properties which can then be conveniently measured and recorded. High-precision laboratory to perform power measurement by single wattmeter method , two watt meter method and three wattmeter method, resistance measurement by Kelvin bridge , earth resistance measurement , AC bridges (Maxwell induction bridge , wein bridge , Anderson bridge ) ,energy meter etc. Students perform and learn about measurement Lab to get the exposure in industries.
Electrical Drive lab is the main lab in electrical engineering which gives industrial exposure to students. In this lab students perform the experiment related to control of electrical drives by using variable frequency and variable speed control. Technological requirements usually include both driving and braking i.e. motoring and generating mode of operation, in certain cases with speed reversal. This lab is fully equipped with machines and control circuit to conduct experiment on the control of AC and DC drive using dual converter and controlled rectifier.
Electrical Machine Lab is very rich lab in department of Electrical Engineering which equipped with AC and DC machines with standard meters, power factor meters, torque and speed meters. Student perform various experiments related to Single-Phase Transformers, Separately-excited DC Generators,D.C Motors, Synchronous Generators, Three-Phase Induction (Asynchronous) Motors, Synchronous motors . It consist of various experimental set up which give lots of industrial knowledge to the students to perform analysis of dc and ac machines characteristics, speed control and load control .
Power system lab consist of various experiments related to fault analysis ( single line to ground , double line to ground , three phase symmetrical and asymmetrical ), analysis of single transmission line and three transmission line, insulators , grounding , cable , testing of oil transformer , switchgear and protection, MATLAB simulation for power system \analysis , voltage security analysis . In this lab student performs lab experiments and plot the characteristics and do observation and connections in kit .This laboratory essential for students to learn practical knowledge of power system in real field.
Microprocessor lab consist of 8085, 8086, microcontrollers kits along with multiplexer, demultiplexer , encoder , decoder circuits and interfacing processor with other equipment. This lab help the students do their projects and enhance their analyzing and programming capability. This laboratory essential for students to learn practical knowledge of microprocessor and microprocessor system in real field.
Digital Electronics lab helps the students to enhance their knowledge about various logic gates AND, OR, NAND, NOR, X NOR, counter, register, binary to decimal conversion with the help of trainer kits perform. This lab assist and help the students do their projects and enhance their analyzing and experimental capability. This laboratory essential for students to learn practical knowledge of digital electronics in real field.
